I made it back to the workshop yesterday.
I’ll be back in LA, later this week. I’ll bring my toolbox and hitting up the workshops in the area. I’m still trying to figure out how to paint like a drawing. I’m more of a fan of drawings then of painting. Drawings have the freedom of action and movement.
Remaining pieces from my first solo show “Who Cares For You?…” (2007) will be at: Black Maria Gallery, Project Room SEPTEMBER 12TH TO OCTOBER 10TH, 2009
My first solo show was very rushed, I completed 53 hanafuda related paintings and additional plus 8-so paintings in less than 2 months. It was very crazy. The reason for the rush was at the time The Fallout Gallery, in Las Vegas had one open spot for a show. I learned you always have to take opportunities. I feel looking back, I’m satisfied with the show, I did the best I could do.
I’m revisiting one piece for the show. About half the pieces were sold, a new piece would tie in all the pieces and missing images.
I have been exploring with themes of nature and human the realationships, creating order to the chaotic, combining romantic visual ideas. I finished the piece above (post previously).
The Language of Flowers” project will be a series of paintings and collage paintings alongside animation works focusing on ideas of nature and the hidden Language of Flowers. “Language of Flowers”, will focus on the relationship between humans and the emotional visual communication of Flowers and Nature. It will be comprised of a series of paintings along side motion animation works which will center on the idea of hidden relationships with Humans and Nature. With the combination of various medias, such as visual painting and hand drawn animation, I hope to explore the similarities between humans, emotional attachment to plant life and nature, and the rise of technology.
I had a coupon, so I was able to use it to print my comic in black and white.
If I add a badge button pin to it, you might find it has some value. maybe you will even “♥heart♥” or “angry EMOTICOM” it one day.
It would be great if any comicbook stores wanted to carry it in consignment.
I want to stay in the southwest. I’m still looking for some sort of job, so I can stay in Las Vegas. This seems like the perfect place for me to finish my film and work on some new art. Looking forward to a quite productive summer. It tired of big city life, when you have to spend all your time working and looking for more work just to afford the big city life style just TO STAY IN FASHION.
My posture and back stings from thinking about it. But truthfully, I can’t afford any lifestyle right now. I’m inbetween things, no placement or sense of place. FLOATING by.
