A Collection of Drawings Series of Myra. Graphite, Charcoal, Conte and Dye on Large Bond Paper
In case you missed “Greetings from Las Vegas” at Gateway early December 2013. I posting some images of my room. I made bedsheets out of recycled plastic bags that I ironed the bags together and painted love letters on them. The television had hand-drawn animation playing on the old television.
I will have pieces at WWA GALLERY next month. I will have a few pieces from a series I call, “FRAGMENTS”
Two weeks ago, I did my first Live Painting for Japan-aid at Blackbird Studios. I loved the experience Live-Painting, definitely a different experience than painting in my studio.
Best part is that the proceeds when to help Japan! Here’s some photos from the event. -Cristina
The piece was of mother nature and the galaxies, inspired by my favorite Carl Sagan quotes.
” We are made of star stuff.”
“You’re an interesting species. An interesting mix. You’re capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you’re not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we’ve found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other.” – from Contact
I have been working on new pieces. I will be have some art pieces next month at La Luz De Jesus in Los Angeles. This piece (above) didn’t make it in the show, as I continue to working on completing it this summer.
I’m excited to work on new paintings and illustrations for some upcoming projects this summer.
I have been spending the past week back in Vegas. It’s nice I have been having uninterrupted time, to spend on my work. The weather has been burning hot, but not completely unbearable due to the breeze (sneeze). Take breaks in between.
I’ll be finished up by the end of the week, and get some video work up within the end of the month.
I have to figure out vimeo and it’s uploading video with blank -black screens. I’m not very good at converting and understanding how computers read formats, mpegs, 3vgs, mov???? what? uhg. huh? hmmmmm…
typing becoming dull, I’d rather sharpen a pencil and write it down. Bye. -C
